Hi all,
I just picked up a 2004 Mystic Blue Pearl Baja sport a couple of weeks ago. Finished my first mod within a few minutes after scanning through this forum. I took the back headrest off. Will see if it improves my blind spot on the next drive which will be in a few minutes after this post. I'll be turning off the DRL's next. I'm looking for a replacement antenna and have a few other mods I've seen here that I want to do.
Just wanted to say thanks for making this great forum and I hope it continues for a long time.

NIce!!! Welcome to the club!
BTW, How did you actually go about getting the back headrest off anyway?

Re: New Baja owner
Thanks for the welcome.
The headrest were very easy to remove. I lowered the back of the seat and the headrest are bolted on the back wall. There is a panel that I pried open from the top. Then I used a 13mm socket to unscrew the two bolts. The headrest fell right off. I didn't want to loose the bolts, so I screwed them back into place. I put the panel back on and repeated for the other side. It took all of about 5 minutes for both.
The difference in driving is huge! My blind spots have been cut in half. Backing out of a parking spot is much easier with twice the view.

Re: New Baja owner
Thanks for the welcome Steve. I know I don't get the credit for that idea, I found it on the forum here somewhere.
I just got back from a 1,131 mile weekend road trip. I must say that I'm VERY impressed with my truck. It was a great smooth ride and it had plenty of power even at a steady 80 mph. I gunned it to see how it would respond and was pleased to see 100 in a couple of seconds. Don't worry I backed down to a normal driving speed.
I got a few looks and several smiles as I passed and got passed. I was disappointed to only see two other Subaru's on the road (one was a Baja). The biggest problem I seem to be having with my truck is the DRL's. I keep forgetting to turn on my lights after dark. I have a few ideas about how to solve the problem and keep at least some form of DRL's. After I do some research and see if it will work, I'll share with y'all.
Well, I've rambled enough for now.
Mike

Do some searching around here as well as Nasioc.com and you will be able to find plenty of info about changing the DRLs. Legacy forums are also a good place to find ideas and tips regarding your baja since the 2000-2004 models are very close to the baja.
