good call on tinting the taillights, im sure they look better in person. did you use that VHT stuff? If i had any black on my truck, id definatly tint mine. I want to do my wifes taillights, but im worried i might waste my time and money on that VHT stuff and have it not turn out that great. is it easy to apply? Its that Nightshades stuff right?

This is the stuff I used:

I just taped it off and sprayed it. If you make the coats too light you will get a "flat" type texture with it. Mine did a little bit but I shot some gloss clearcoat over them to give them a bit more shine. If you have a spare piece of plexiglass or plastic to test on it really helps to get a feel of how the paint lays. In RL it looks a lot darker and the tail lights look kinda cool at night as well.

I do however want to add another set of lights to the unused cavity in the tail lights for my backups. The backups on the Baja are a bit lacking IMO.

Glad you got it all fixed. I would have been tempted to use the video to get the extra $200 that the insurance wouldn't pay. You deserve it for the aggravation and time spent. I'm sure they would have paid the $200 out of pocket to not land in court on hit and run charges or have the insurance company see their hit and run techniques and put that in their file. I don't mean to sound mean but they obviously would have been more than happy to screw you over. Would have cost you your deductible plus a ding against your insurance potentially increasing your rates for a long time.

I just tinted my tail lights also with the same VHT stuff. Have you had any problems with being pulled over for them?
