ignition chime PITA
Is there an easy way to stop the annoying "ding" chime the keeps going off with the ignition key inserted and the door left open? Is there a relay that can be easily accessed and pulled without disturbing other system functions?? I want to be able to use my stereo with the door open and without having the car running, etc..

The above is true for my Baja at least, I can not speak for other years.
Spent 30 minutes under my dash tonight, and I am certain my chime comes from that box.
If I get time this weekend, I may go ahead and do this but instead, unsolder the speaker.
I'll take pics and do a write-up.

Are you sure that this chime is the same one as for the seatbelt chime solution that is mentioned in that link? I did that trick for my seatbelts years ago and it worked for that purpose, but I still get the chime when the key is in the ignition and the door is open (or even closed and the engine is off)......Maybe I just didn't do it long enough.......I can try it tomorrow again and see if it works. Thanks for the reply!Rizzo wrote:http://www.iwsti.com/forums/how-install ... orial.html

It's not the same, although I don't have the belt chime and I have no idea why.
