Hey everyone,
Obviously new here. I've had my 03 Baja for about ten years now. Car has been amazing for me. I'd like to keep it forever but I'm running into some issues. I've got a bad misfire in cylinders 1 and 3. Read out says I've got bad MAP, IAC valve and TPS. This all just started after my alternator went bad. Car was running fine... Alternator goes bad... replaced the alternator... now I have the misfire. I'm trying to source factory sensors because I've heard the baja can be a bit picky about them but several of them are discontinued. Most importantly, the MAP sensor. I've already got a factory TPS and IAC valve... Just need that MAP.
Has anyone here had any issues with parts store brand sensors? I tried searching the forum but couldn't find much.

Re: Parts story sensors
Seems like an awful lot went wrong simultaneously... Have you checked to make sure the wiring harness and connectors aren't damaged or corroded? Those parts are all in the same area, and might be on the same sub-harness. I'd first check to make sure there's nothing obviously wrong with the wiring first, before replacing parts.
Wonder if the injectors are also on the same wiring harness... Cylinders 1 and 3 are on the same side of the engine, so if the same harness handles those sensors and those two injectors, and it was unplugged, that would explain your symptoms.
But to answer your question, I've never replaced any of those parts, so no experience there. Only replaced the O2 sensors, and pretty sure I used something from Denso.

I was considering replacing the injectors but didn't think of the harness. I can't imagine the alternator going bad caused any of this but it's one hell of a coincidence if not. I'll check all the harnesses today.
