Is there any clips on the back of the BAJA and AWD badges. I really want to take them off but I don't want to learn the hard way. Anyone take them off?

I'm not sure about clips, but I have seen pics of debadged bajas before...

just remember, if a towing company can't tell your vehicle is AWD, and they trash it, you can't sue them. It has to be obvious that they are hooking up an AWD vehicle - they are not required to memorize all vehicle types and drivetrains.

Do you know if there were holes though. I know there is behind the "SUBARU" letters on the back so I'm keeping that on. I just don't want to take off the "BAJA" and "AWD" if there is holes.

haha
Also, If my truck ever gets towed I know drivers, I'll be there to let them know and it does say it on the sides of the truck. Plus all new subarus are AWD so if a tow man doesn't know that he shouldn't be in the car industry. thanks 8)

Yep the first U in subaru and the R both have pins - you get two 1/8 inch holes with a dimple around them when you take off that part of the logo. AWD comes off with no problems. I haven't done the Baja logo yet but it is possible to pull off the tailgate inner panel and check for holes.

That does look nice. How did you do it?

You should consider powder coating the 'sports bars' next. I did it, and I think it looks great!

Thanks for the follow up pics.

I used a fishing line and ran behind it. I de-badge all of my cars because it looks so much cleaner. just take your time, keep the line closer to you rather the paint and pull until it's done. than some alcohol or 3M adheasive remover will gum up the stickyness. Rub and pick at it until it's clean. wipe with water, then wax.

about the bars....It's funny you say that.

I might powdercoat the bars and wheels black.

I love the gunmetal but I like being different than anyone else and I haven't seen that yet. I had black wheels on my Type R and I loved it.

I would also like to clear out the fronts and get rid of that ugly orange.
soon. very soon.

thanks guys
