Hi all,
I am new the scooby truck. I been looking at baja and just bought one. Notice underneath looks like it was wet with oil. Cleaned up with break cleaner and it doesn't leak on the grown.
While looking up on the drivers side, I notice oil on the Axle boot, and there is a tube with a nut on the end over the axle that appears to be very black and wet. Please look at the picture, and any advice on what that tube is, or does it look like the axle, and input would be much appreciated .
Thanks
Bob

power steering rack.
not a fun proposition. expensive to repair, cheap to replace but aftermarket parts often don't last. OE is unavailable or expensive. usually a lot of labor $ to replace.

Go figure. I love the truck, The Rack and a wheel bearing is the only thing wrong with this 220K mile truck. Fluids has always been changed, only had 2 owners, (1 was only for a year). I wonder if I can have the rack rebuilt.
