2005 TURBO WITH PO302 CODE
I recently have looked at a 2005 Baja Turbo 123,000 for sale and the owner informed me the dealership said the code PO302 appeared and gave a quote of around $2000.00 for repair since the check engine light came on and the engine is misfiring. Would it be good to also replace the turbo at this high mileage? I saw KBB is around $8300 for this car and wondering how much repair would cost me. any ideas? comments?

Re: 2005 TURBO WITH PO302 CODE
I don't have a turbo in mine, so can't comment on that, but code P0302 Code - Cylinder #2 Misfire (http://www.obd-codes.com/p0302) probably doesn't have anything to do with the turbo. I'd think that whatever it takes to fix P0302 wouldn't be in the area of the turbo, so I doubt you'd get a "we can do it since it'll already be apart" discount.
If the previous owner(s) changed the oil regularly and used proper coolant, I don't think replacing the turbo is necessary (but again, I haven't had a turbo car, and I'm not a mechanic).
Finally, although the dealer said it'll be $2000 for the fix, it may not. There are numerous threads of mechanics/dealers saying something is wrong (e.g. injectors -- $$$), but it ended up being something a lot less expensive (e.g. spark plug cables - $).
