Fiat Strada - Modern Baja Clone?

Post by Killer B »

Has anyone here heard of the Fiat Strada? This vehicle wasn't released in the US. When I first saw an image of one I thought it was a concept design of what a modern day Baja would look like. Later I found out that these vehicles are real.

These look incredibly like the Baja and were obviously heavily inspired by them. I'm the biggest Baja fan out there but I have to say I really love the design of these as well! I guess in a way the Baja lives on through this car/truck hybrid. Too bad they aren't sold in the US. (Figures) Looks like the Americans will be stuck with those ugly Avalanches and Ridgelines for a while.

Its cool you posted this because I was researching them a few months ago. There is some talk going that since Fiat now owns most of Chrysler that the next Dakota could be a version of the Strada, especially since the owner of Chrysler has mentioned that the next Dakota if built would most likely be unibody constructed. Of course this has led to a lot of complaints from people who want a super powered mini ram that gets 11 mpg. Anyways, just my 2 cents; I think the strada is awesome looking but still love my Baja more :)
I take life like a duck; calm and collective on the surface, paddling like heck underneath
