Aluminum Radiator upgrade

Post by Baja life 06 »

Hey guys i'm really new to this Subaru Baja thing and so far i'm loving the truck.. I recently have to replace the radiator on my 06 turbo 5speed and decided to go with an aluminum replacement and some silicone hoses, but the new rad didn't have one of the small coolant lines that the factory rad has on the top on the passenger side..
How do I go about fixing that since its the only difference between the two..
any help I can get will be great..

I don't think that is the correct radiator. What model is it?

It should route to the over flow tank. Its under pressure when hot, so any kind of fabrication would need to be uber high quality.

Sounds like you got a non-turbo radiator, the N/A Baja's don't have that auxiliary coolant tank on the intake that you have (no need, that tank is there for the turbo). If possible I'd do a paypal dispute if the seller doesn't want to do a return.

I'd recommend Koyo or Mishimoto, looks like Koyo's p/n is A2704 for the 06 Turbo M/T rad, Mishimoto doesn't list an all aluminum rad that's compatible but I did find that their OE replacement for the non-turbo Baja is on sale for only $55 now: http://www.mishimoto.com/subaru-legacy- ... 03-06.html

Good deal if anyone else wants/needs a high quality OE replacement for cheap.

hey guys thanks for the reply but I was starting to miss not driving my truck so I opted for a factory replacement from my local parts authority store. I did upgrade to silicone hoses and gates racing belts though.. maybe next year when I am really going to get into the motor and suspension building ill look into that koyo radiator. so thx for the help..
btw anyone know of good coil overs for the Baja.. all I keep seeing are the megan.

BC racing makes some that are priced pretty well. Nice features too.
