There are 4 bolts the mount the hitch to the car, one through each tow loop and 2 that that thread up through 2 exsisting holes in the rear bumper to a welded on nut on top of the bumper. My problem was the the 2 weld nuts on the bumper were rusted pretty bad. And in the process of threading the bolt through the nut snapped off, so I had to take the rear bumper off to gain access to the top of the weld nut. But in order the take the bumper off you have to take the taillights off and to get enough room to get a wrench on the nut you need to take the tailgate off.
