Transmission Range Sensor Malfunction

Post by bajaguy »

Hi guys, my check engine light has been on for quite some time now due to the transmission range sensor. It doesn't effect how it performs, but I need to get it fixed for inspection. I took it in to the dealer and they were pretty certain that replacing the sensor for $75 would fix my problem. Nope. Then they said the wire lead going to the sensor. I took it off, tested it, put dielectric grease on it, and the light remains.
If anyone else has encountered this and solved it or if you have any wild ideas, they would be appreciated!
