New to Subaru - and BAJA

Greetings! I found this forum and have read with interest many of the posts. I was looking for reliable, safe car for teenagers and just purchased an '03 baja sport. It has 180k miles but I don't expect to put more than 5k per year on it. Well maintained - clutch, water pump, timing belt, serpentine belts, etc.

The head gasket was never replaced and I'm aware of potential issues - was hoping for any advice on what to watch for to keep any major (and minor) issues in check (not just head gasket related but anything else deemed important).

Any suggesions would be appreciated!
