new 05 Suspension cost

Post by bajamudd »

Ok, so as some of you may know, I have already liftend my 03 sport 1 inch using the subtle solutions lift kit, but I want to lift it more and wil be needing some new shocks and srpings soon, and from I have learned from research is that the 05 bajas sit higher simply becasue of the srpings and shocks. So I am gonna give it a shot and buy the 05 suspension, but my dealer has the price up to almost 2,000 for 4 springs and shocks. Does anybody know how much it will actually cost me to do this?
Thank you

If you go through one of the discounted online/phone order dealers you should see about;
Front strut - $105 ea
Front spring - $40 ea
Rear strut - $95 ea
Rear spring - $50 ea

So about $145 per corner.

You should be able to reuse your top mounts, bump stops and dust covers.

Thanks for the replies! I will look into possibly buying some soon and getting them installed. I just have to do some research on the cv joints and what angles they can be run at.

I have already done this to my 03, and the prices hocrest listed are right on. The struts are not absolutely necessary to change as they to do actually contribute to the lift. The lift comes from changing the springs only. The struts change is just to allow for the travel of the piston inside the struts. As long as you dont come close to full extension or compression of the strut you will be ok with the original. I also re-used my strut tops/cushions without any problems...

Peace!

Oh, thank you for that input sfeather11! Did you reuse yo ur original struts as well? And has everything been ok with the lift? Did you need to get your baja realigned then as well?
