Hey Everyone! Finally getting around to writing my introductory post on here. Been lurking around the forums for the past couple of weeks soaking up all the information I can. I really appreciate the wealth of knowledge you guys have put together here!
So, I just purchased my first Subaru, an '05 White/Grey Turbo Baja, 5spd Manual, with 72k miles for $15.5k Really excited about it!
Like I mentioned before, I've been going through all of the forum posts just to get a better feel for the car.
Here are my current issues/plans with the car:
1. First I need to figure out if the filters have been taken out of the banjo bolts in the oil line going to the turbo. After reading up on it I'm now somewhat paranoid that my turbo could blow up at any moment. Haha
2. When my stereo (the "premium" 6-CD changer) is turned off, the display will flash on and off with random symbols. However, the stereo works when I turn it on so hopefully this is just a grounding issue, I plan to clean and reseat all the grounds in the car.
2-a. I'm not really satisfied with the sound coming from the "premium" speakers and if regrounding the stereo doesn't dramatically boost sound quality I plan on upgrading all 6 speakers and also hopefully squeezing a low profile subwoofer under one of the front seats. I'd like to keep everything looking as stock as possible so from what I've read on here I'll have to look into some slim 6.5" speakers for the each of the 4 doors.
3. Fab a hard cover for the bed. This might not happen until summer but I'd really like to be able to secure cargo in the bed without having to worry as much about theft. With the ARE Caps, Snugtop, and Ozzbros lids being all way to expensive, the plans I've found on here will really come in handy.
As I get around to each thing I'll probably have some questions I'll post on here but I like to do my research first so hopefully they won't be something that's already been covered in the part.
