Fuel Gauge

Post by boomer2 »

Just bought my baja a week ago and today was the first time filling the tank, and this is my first subaru and i was just wondering if its normal for gauge to fill up very slowly, and also one thing that concerned me was the gauge only went up to 3/4 and i know its completely full because i overfilled just a hair to make sure it was full. Anyone else experienced this or know anything about it?

Mine goes really slow too, but it goes clear up to beyond full.

The gauge does move very slowly. Mine will take about 1 minute to get to full after I fill up. It does however go just beyond the full mark on the gauge when the tank is full. You may want to check the connections for the sender at the fuel tank to make sure there is not a loose connection there.

Hi there, I also noticed that on my Baja too and since I hadn't changed the gauge faces & trim ever since I bought it, I opted to replace them and now, it reads okay. But i'm sure the gauge and the fuel tank sensor are not calibrated properly and if you find that annoying, you can have it fixed but it is a very big hassle! :(
