Hi guys,

I'm new here. I just got myself a 2004 Baja Turbo with 51K miles on it. One previous owner - when he whipped out a stack of paperwork 20 sheets thick showing oil changes every 3 thousand miles like clockwork, new brakes, and new tires, I was sold.

I've got an appointment with the dealer tomorrow to get the mesh screen out of the banjo bolt on the turbo oil line (and an oil change while they're at it). Normally I'm decently mechanically inclined, but when I popped the hood on the Baja and beheld the intercooler and a boxer engine staring me in the face, I knew I'd need help. I've done lots of mods on my Honda del Sol, but I've never even looked at a boxer engine and I've certainly never owned a turbocharged engine before.

I've got a couple technical questions related to audio, but I'll stick them in the technical section.

I've noticed there's also a NASIOC forum with a Baja sub-section in it that seems to get decent traffic. Are there any types of questions that would be better suited to that forum than this one?

Hey welcome to the forum! Be sure to add your location info! Im sure most questions will be answered well on both forums, but If I had a turbo related question, Id personally go to NASIOC first. They seem to be all about that stuff :D Lets see some pics of the new vehicle!

The screen can plug and cut off the flow of oil to the turbos' bearings. If that happens, it becomes time for either a new turbo or a rebuild.

You may also want to pull the screens out of the banjo bolts for the AVCS. When they plug it can cause a little bit of a rough idle.
