Kayak Roof Racks
I am in need of kayak roof racks for my '03 Baja Sport... Anyone have any recommendations for me??? As far as any that you have... Thanks guys!
Re: Kayak Roof Racks
Howdy!
I currently use the following to carry along a 17ft kayak (Feathercraft Khatsalano S).
Yakima Low Riders and 48" crossbars
Yakima HullRaisers
I've also used Yakima's Saddles and HullyRollers with success. It works really well and I've had no issues at 65mph on the highway - outside of getting bumped around in strong winds.
I have though about either getting the trailer hitch mount T-bar or just making a raised holder in the bed so that I can mount the rear rack bar rurther back for more stability. I'd like to have greater bar spread with a 17ft kayak, but that's just me.
Thule should work fine also. Plus depending on length of kayaks, you may be fine with the stock bars; but I'd recommend Thule or Yakima rack setup - just more options IMO.
Good luck,
Glenn
