Son of a %(*^*(! Anyone got a source for wheels

Post by njswampbuggy »

Long story short. I ain't young, so that says something about my Mom. She ain't near young. 90ish and sharp as a well honed Bowie. Well, here in the swamps of Jersey we're having the worst blizzard in my 50 odd years of Hell raising, so had to stock Mom up 'cause the mention of coming to our place for a day or two could bring on a wrath that makes the blizzard a flurry. Guys with older Moms will get my meaning.

Anyhow, the baja tracked beautify thru the snow. Problem is I had to stop at a light and when I took off, BOOM, ice under snow. Slid and caught my rear right wheel on a curb an broke it at the bead. These freakin' things are expensive for as small as they are (disclosure: other vehicle is a custom show pickup on silly wide 18's and they could be replaced for less). Any inside info on where to get a replacement wheel that won't break the bank....and the bank is pretty broke due to Christmas and a kid that seems to like the college idea, lol.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and has a Happy and Healthy 2011!

Wow, that long story turned out to be a long story, sorry.

Long short stories are always fun. :D I've never looked into wheels so I can't help in that area. I hope you end up finding something though. :(

My parents have done this a few times as well. In previous years we have been able to find spare identical wheels on craigslist as well as several junkyards. I would imagine Bajas up north and salvaged would be easier to find that down here in the South. Otherwise you may have to go with a set of Outback wheels.
