Low Fuel Light not coming on

I usually don't drive to the point were the low fuel light should come on, but yesterday I did and noticed mine did not come on. The manual states that it should come on with 2 gallons left. When I filled up I only had 1.2 gallons left in my tank with no light on. Just curious if anyone has had this issue before?

Does the light come on during the test sequence when you first start the ignition? When you first turn on the engine with the key all your dash warning lights, including fuel, should light up briefly. If it doesnt light up, the bulb could be burnt out. If it does, might be a more serious problem, maybe something electrical or an issue with the fuel sending unit.

it does not come on when I first start it up. guess its just burned out, odd, those bulbs should rarely go out
