Just Bought a Baja only 44k miles

Post by WillGT »

Hey
Well I have officially left the Jeep club and gotten a Baja
Its an 03 Maroon Red Automatic, and the kicker is that it only has 44,000 miles on it
The used car dealer that I got it from gave it to me for an amazing price way under 10,000
Its got a few paint chips on the cladding, but nothing I can't touch up and also included the bed extender/cargo net

Its an awesome car so far, my only issue is having an automatic. I started driving on a manual and have been driving one up until now and really miss a manual. Its just seems so hard to find these things in a manual transmission

It really is. People tend to hold onto these things and the enthusiasts really go for the manual. I ended up driving for 4 hours to get my manual transmission Baja. Cngrats BTW a 2003 with 44k is ridiculously low! If you really want to switch to a manual, ebay sometimes has them for sale as well as some places that sell car parts. you could always ask your local mechanic how much it would run for a swap and then look around for tranny prices. I would LOVE a 6-speed!

I have been considering that, If I can find a complete kit for a decent price or someone would want to swap one out. I wonder If I need to worry about the dashboard as well, since the automatic has a display showing what gear you are in versus the manual which doesn't

meh, the ethusiasts will grab whatever Baja they can find since they're rare. Unless you mean manual enthusiasts. :P  I am in love with the Baja and I'm just glad I was able to find one no matter what it was or what it offered. [smilie=666.gif]

I really hate that for you steve. Hey you can come park it at my house until you come back! Also, they don't have Bajas in the UK so maybe you should take it anyway. If anything you might get someone who wants to buy it!

Steve

where in DC are you, I have been considering looking around for another Baja that is Manual and selling/trading mine. I still can't get used to an automatic and been wanting one with a manual.
