Body damage/ rear bumper cover

My wife's baja got clipped the other day spun around a few and missed a pole by a few feet..... lucky break there. The body shop returned the car and it looks like it's missing a part. Can anybody else see the actual steel part of bumper while looking through the gap at the tail gate and bed floor when the tail gate is closed? We can't remember seeing it(the bumper) before, but I can't find a part number for another bumper cover. So did the body shop forget something or am imagining things?

Mine has a slight gap too, so I'm guessing it's normal, unless I'm missing a piece too.

Thanks for checking. The gap is not really what I'm questioning though. when you look through the gap can you see the back of the bumper? I thought there was a bumper cover on both sides of the bumper - there are holes on the bottom inside of the bumper cover (near the spare tire). I'm probably just high on crack. thanks again for checking.

I can see the metal part of the back of my bumper through the gap also

I have a very minor crack in mine. Maybe about 1/8" I can't see the metal though...
