When I put the air conditioner on high, it makes a high pitched screeching whine sound. It doesn't sound like a belt squeal, but my next step is to look under the hood with the A/C full blast. I did recently replace the serpentine belt. Any idea what this sound could be? Do you think a can of belt dressing spray could quiet this down?
It still cools good, but my wife complains of the squeal, which to me is barely audible.

Re: A/C makes schreeching whine on high setting
I sprayed some belt conditioner on the belt and the sound seems to have gone away. Years ago there was a spray called "belt dressing." The spray they had at the auto parts place was "belt conditioner," I guess it is the same thing. Seems to have fixed the problem.
