I wouldn't bother with any chip. Put your money towards an open souce tune.

Nothing really negative, but unless you have a "unichip tuner" tune it for YOUR car you will not get the most out of it.

You can go with "open source" tuning, save some money and get the same power, and gas mileage. You can purchase a Tactrix cable and input an "off the shelf" internet tune youself with a notebook computer. Most internet tuners will then have you datalog and they will tweak your tune to maximise your performance. Or you can go to an open source tuner and they can either tune your car on a dyno or do a road tune.

My Baja is open source tuned. My mileage varies from a worst of 23 mpg ( over 85mph for the entire tank) to a best of 29mpg. I average 25mpg. On a Mustang dyno I put down 205.8 whp and 233.5 wt. For comparison, a stock STI put down 231 whp and 247 wt the same day. The only mod I have is a Turbo XS up pipe. I'm very pleased with the performance and the wheel HP and Torque numbers would work out to approx. 260 HP and 280 lb/ft. The cost of the tune, the dyno pulls, and the up pipe worked out to less than $500.00.

Talk to Matt at 555motorsports.net He did my tune in person, but he does internet tunes as well. He has pricing on his website and is great to work with.
