Hi all!

Post by SCF »

Newbie to the scooby-truck world here. Well, at least I'm hoping to be. Wife owned a Forester a while back, pretty much my only Soobeedoo experience. A good one to say the least.

Anywho...I'm looking at a 2003 Baja (non-sport, non-turbo)
Ad on Autotrader.

Baja looks very good, price is decent, mileage is right, nice truck. However, it's been in an accident back in 04. Don't think it was horrible, based on what I see on the truck now. But my concern is over the long haul, how well do these things handle accidents and keep running/driving well.

Also, are there any particular things I should be looking out for? Items that are known to go bad or be problematic on the Bajas?

Jeeper at heart (had an 02 TJ, now have an 07 JK), so I can do my own thing. Mods and upgrades are planned eventually as well, like to make things MINE...different.

Thoughts?

whats the price and mileage? I bought mine and according to carfax it had been in a minor accident but it was the right price and i love it and haven't had any problems with it. I do like that hood scoop, I wonder if that was an easy aftermarket one to put on?

"Absolute lowest I can go" price is $11500, miles are just shy of 79K.

Ok, she's mine now! [smilie=666.gif]

One question though. Did they originally come with keyless entry? Seems the previous owner had installed a remote start along with some high end stereo equipment. Before trading she had the install place uninstall the stereo, but supposedly keep the keyless intact. Well, they finally got the remote to me and I can't get the thing to work. I looked everywhere for the receiver and the on-off switch, nowhere to be found. Lovely. I'm guessing the place uninstalled the remote start as well.

Well mines the sport, which is the less luxurious of the two models, no leather etc etc, and it had keyless entry, so im sure the classic, or whatever the other trim is, im sure has keyless entry.
