Hello, newbie here. I'm thinking of purchasing a used Baja, and have been looking around on the internet. Strangely, there is a lot of '03 and '05s for sale, and I was wondering 1. Why these particular years? and 2. Were there any differences between the years?
Thanks for any imput you can give.
Differences between '03 and '05?

The '03 did not have a turbo available. '04+ the Baja is a turbo, the Baja Sport is N/A.
The '03 is not as high a suspension lift as the '04+.
The '03 uses a silver-gray plastic for the lower body cladding regardless of paint color, whereas the '04+ or '05+ uses a slightly different tone of the paint color for the plastic cladding.
I don't really know about other stuff.

I'm more interested in the non-turbo models; who can afford premium these days?
So I take it that there were no upgrades to the drivetrain, or major components? The cosmetics are not so important to me, so it sounds like they are pretty much the same vehicle otherwise? Great! Thanks for the reply.

Re: Differences between '03 and '05?
Yeah I just bought an 03 Yellow Baja with only 46k miles on it, (im excited)
but I too wanted to figure out the differences. The only thing I see I might rather have with the newer models is the little bit higher suspension, since I prefer this being more "trucky" than a car. Im under the impression that the 05 springs are the only difference, and its a direct replacement. Is this correct? All I would need to do is find some 05 springs and install them??
