How Many 5spd Turbos?

Post by spazchicken »

I've been enjoying the Baja for over a year now, but also owning a turbo 5 spd Subaru, I really miss the get up & go when I'm in the Baja. I like hauling junk, but I also want to haul ass. I decided to look into upgrading, but it seems all available Turbos are automatics. I've seen 1 or 2 manuals in my searches, but they seem hard to find. Does anyone know why they made so many Turbos with autotragic transmissions?

...'cause that's what the market wants? I mean, I like a stick as well, but even with a niche vehicle like the Baja, A/Ts sell a lot more than M/Ts. I saw a few in the Salt Lake City area ads when I was looking for mine, I just didn't want to drive down there to look.

The 5spds are rare, but I wouldn't have bought my Baja without one.

I found mine through a national used car chain and had it shipped in from one of their other locations. It took a lot of patience to wait for one to become available but it was worth it. My only wish now is a compiled list of mods from the WRXs etc. that are compatible with the Baja Turbo.
