RV towing??

Post by Flowmastered87GL »

Think I could pull one of these with a 5 speed sport??

http://www.tab-rv.com/index.php

The T@B one... (not the big T@DA one)

looks like it weighs 1600 lbs or so plus any cargo.

How heavy of stuff have all you pulled?

I see a picture on the site of a VW New Beetle pulling a T@B so if THAT can pull it I bet a brat could with a weber carb

We pull our small boat with our Baja. It probably weighs a little less when it's loaded on its trailer than a T@B, but not too awfully much less. A couple/few hundred pounds less maybe? That boat's ~1200 lbs on its trailer.

Now, our Baja's a turbo so it has no troubles whatsoever, but before we got the Baja we pulled this boat with our Neon and it had no issues at all. It was a little slow accelerating, of course. :)

I'd really like to see you get one so you can tell us all how they are. They look really cool!

I've had my eye on the T@B for the longest time. Just a bit pricey, but damn cool. I figured the Baja would pull it with no problems. I've read in some forum somewhere that people pull the T@B with their Legacy... I've also looked at some other teardrop-type trailers... neat stuff.

What do you guys think of the T@B trailers vs. the pop-up type of trailer? What would make one spend so much more on the T@B? Like I said, I think they're super-cool, but too expensive for me at this point.

i would pay more for the tab versus a popup because its rigid and should keep out wind and water better than a tent trailer.

Looks like we are probably going to end up eventually with a toyota based class C model (like 20 foot or so) just because they have bathrooms. I dont anything the baja can tow has a REAL bathroom.

The 13 footer can be towed by a Baja just fine. See my pic on page of 11 of Baja pics in the "Anything Baja section." I think a 16-footer would be outside the weight limit for our Subies though.

Oh, and you can get a 13-footer with a full bathroom. Mind you, it's a custom order and takes away a lot of living space inside the tiny trailer.

is it a full bathroom or just a room where you can set your little $50 porta potty?

From the price I saw on those.... $10K ish.... I would just try to find a 92 or so Toyota 20 foot class C
