What ODB2 Protocol is supported? ISO9141, ISO14230, KWP2000
I sawthis auction on Ebay for a USB Powered ODBii Code reader. It shows Subaru, will it work with a 2003 Baja?
It supports ISO9141, ISO14230, (KWP 2000). It says the car must have Pin7. Does the 03 Baja have Pin7? And I cannot seem to find where the ODBii Connector is. I didn't see it under the dash or hood, any ideas?

Elm 327 Protocol for On Board Diagnostics 2
After reading on the Internet (not always the most accurate source of information) that Elm 327 protocol for On Board Diagnostics 2 (ODB II) is supported by virually all cars now a days, I went to the Auctionstealer.com to snipe an ebay auction for a USB ODB2 Code Reader that is Elm 327 complaint.
Does anyone know for certain if this is compatible with a 2003 Baja Sport?
I will tell you in 2 weeks if it ever gets here from Mainland Communist China.

Need Freeware for USB ODBII Code Readers
So I bought the ELM327 CANBUS USB ODBII Code Reader, but I haven't hooked it up yet. It did not come with any software. Are there suggestions for freeware that is for code readers?

Well dave depending on the reader you might not need any software, just a list of trouble code numbers and what they mean. The reader I have used on the vans at work just pluged in under the dash and turned on, then you would turn the van ignition to the on position and wait a few seconds for any codes to be read and displayed. you would then look these up.
What does your reader look like?

It is this USB Reader from EBay. It is not a standalone reader that displays codes, it must be hooked up to the USB port of the laptop. I haven't downloaded the reccomended software yet. It doesn't display codes like a standalone reader, it relies on the Laptop for the interface.bajabob wrote:What does your reader look like?
