Tall People and Bajas

Post by mknowlton »

I'm thinking of getting a Baja and am 6'2". I test drove one and loved it, but was wondering if there are any other 6'2" plus folks out there with Bajas. Anyone notice any difficulties with space inside?

My husband is 6'2" as well. He's more comfy in the Baja than in his truck, however, his head is pretty close to the "ceiling" of the Baja but it doesn't bother him. He is tall from the waist up, though, so depending on how you are proportioned you may have a bit more room than he does.

I'm 6' 2" and I wear some serious boots most of the time and I fit perfect in the Baja. The boots do destroy the rubber mats though.

Thanks!

Like I said I test drove it and fit pretty well, but I was just curious to know about other's opinions. I'm going to pull the trigger - have one ordered with my local dealer - should be in by Late May! I'm psyched.

I am 6'2" and fit fine in the baja. In the back seat my head hits if i sit straight up (rear seat seems to be elevated a bit) but when I slouch like normal I'm good, but i never ride in the back anyway.

My right leg does cramp up a bit on longer drives, the way I sit my leg kinda rubs the center council and it gets annoying. Thats mainly a bad habit, but the Impreza didn't bother me when I did this.

You should have absolutly no problem.

If i'm not mistakin you can get a sport model without the sun roof as an option and that should give you more head room.

6'4" no real problems. I would give up the sun roof for more room, and am looking into removing the grab handle . Seems like it would hurt if I crashed and hit it.

Hawk is right on about the right leg deal. Pedals are close for big feet, but you get used to it. My biggest issue is that when I move seat back to get my legs comfortable the steering wheel is uncomfortably far away, tilt telescoping steering wheel would have been nice :)

I can wear a helmet inside without bumping too much.

Good fit for me

6'-2" here as well. I like the fit. Almost the same as my escape. The sunroof actually makes me feel a bit less claustrophobic. My head rubs in my buddy's volvo-THAT makes me crazy!

Thanks for the info

I appreciate the advice - I really was just looking the perspective of other tall folks. I'm supposed to receive my Baja at the end of May. Keeping my fingers santa arrives early.

I'm 6'3" and comfortably fit in my Baja. I even have room to spare. A 7'1"-friend of mine lost a couple of hairs (he doesn't have much to begin with)when I opened the moonroof.

Ain't the head room, it's the leg room... with the rear seat folded, the driver's seat has to be more upright, and that cuts down on the leg room for me. I wish Subaru would allow the steering wheel to be raised a tad more..anyway, it ain't no big deal really.

I am 6'4 and have no trouble with getting in or out of my Baja. . . That is until my fiancee drives and adjusts the seat forward and when I get in later my leg hits the steering wheel lol. .
