Seems common to find rust at the bottom of the rear Baja door jams. I'm about to sand down, however wanted to bring up the topic.
1) If you Baja is rusty in this area, is the rust from the outside in, or coming in from the frame area?
2) Does Subaru offer a metal patch for this rusty area?

Re: Rust in rear door jam area
I just lightly sanded mine with steel wool, got rust off surface, painted with subaru touch up paint (got at dealer). Doesn't look too good, but figure better to stop any rust, might not do anything. Probably is rusting from underneath also. Hard to get at from underneath because cladding is in the way.
I make sure to get a car wash that has undercarrige spray after every nasty road salting, especially now with it starting to rust. Not much you can do once it starts, covering up with undercoat underneath the body only will encapsulate the rust for moisture to get in.
Old post, but do you still have your Baja?
