Clutch replacement

I replaced my clutch and I'm having an issue with the throw out bearing engaging fully, like the slave cylinder is maxed out and the fork isn't engaged fully or something to that effect, anyone experience this or have some advice on the matter? I put a wrench in between and it engaged enough to get into gear but still got a bit of a whine.
