Hi everyone,
I've got an '05 Baja which works and looks fine for its age. However, this weekend its fuel pump failed. Up to the last moment I was hoping that this is not the pump but perhaps something else, but apparently I was mistaken. So now I guess I will have a lot of job to do to put it back on track (I plan replacing the pump by myself). I was wondering, if anyone tried installing non-OE pumps onto your Subies? Are they okay? because I want to save some $$ on the repair, but you know, this job is quite time-consuming, so do not want to deal with it twice....

Re: 05 Baja. fuel pump replacement question
Just wanted to share a quick update with you folks. When doing a fuel pump repair it's important to grab a fuel pump stainer as well. It's like a little nylon bag that attaches to the pump and filters fuel before it gets into the pump https://www.carid.com/fuel-pump-strainers/. So I bought a pump and a staner and hope to get it shortly to fix the thing on weekend.

Thanks for the update, and Welcome!
Sorry, I don't have any experience replacing fuel pumps...

Re: 05 Baja. fuel pump replacement question
Few months late but for the benefit of others reading: having worked in a parts store a while, I would not advocate anything but OE. There is absolutely a reason it costs 3x as much!
I don't care if you do find the unicorn that does have a lifetime warranty, I don't want to drop the fuel tank more than once! Even then, as an electrical component there are all too many catches and caveats to the warranty.
