Headlight matches?

Post by mikeeitup »

Hey guys does anybody know if we share headlights with any other subies? When I look for a new set they say that these will work with a legacy and an outback. So does that mean I could buy projector replacements advertised for an outback of some relative year and put them in the Baja? I am asking because on my local twisty roads these headlights don't do too much to illuminate my path. Thanks for any imput!

I'd also be really interested in getting projectors for mine. I looked a while back, but couldn't find any clear answers... At least, nothing concrete and definitive. I did buy a replacement headlight for a 2004(?) Outback from a scrap yard a couple years back, and it fits my Baja with no problems.

The kouki headlights are the closest we get to aftermarket (google it). Some have retrofitted projectors into the existing housing. As for the compatibility of other models, they are the same as the 2000-2004 outback and legacy. The wiring is different between the 1 and 2 bulb models.

Are these the ones you're referring to?

Then it looks like these projectors can be installed...maybe...

(The title says 05-14, but the details says "Brackets: Precision Fit 03-14 Subaru Legacy")

I haven't done it, but the title says 02-04 Legacy (which should be what we have), and the mounting hole locations/size of assemblies in the photo appear to be the same as what we have.

They do look quite cool, though.

plenty of people have done the kouki headlights on the Baja... If I remember correctly, there are two different models that use different headlight types. Like one might be projectors or something while the other is more typical halogens or something.
