Auto temp control??

Post by sfeather11 »

Hey all,
Has anyone ever heard/know of an upgrade from the stock manual A/C controls to the auto temp control unit some of the legacys and OBs had in the early 2000s? Physically it looks like it would bolt right in. Curious about what it would take from an electrical standpoint. From the back it looks like the auto unit has an extra harness plug that the manual unit does not have...

I know the stock setup pulls a cable that rotates a valve at the passenger's feet. If you look right above the plastic trim all the way down in there on the left you can see it. You'd probably have to get some other stuff to make it work.

These auto climate doohickeys are nothing but trouble.

I just went thru a 03 L.L.Bean ac system.

Too many damn sensors and things going on...

I got tired of spending money on it and ran a wire, and switch to the friggin compressor!

Spent $200 on sensors and shit, and a $3 switch fixed it.

Avoid!

Google and you'll see.

Problems all over!
