I am getting a loud clunking noise from the front end of my 2005 Baja. It only seems to do it when I am pulling into a driveway or driving on uneven ground, such as my yard. Seems like it does it when the car is "rocking".
I have already replaced the struts, strut mounts, lower ball joints, sway bar end links and sway bar bushings. None of this stopped the clunking noise. Any idea what may be causing this to continue to happen or what I can replace that I havent already?? Its driving me crazy

Does steering wheel position have any effect on it?

Re: loud banging/clunking noise heard from front end
I had this issue with my 2000 Legacy. A clunking at low speeds, often when going into a driveway, over a speed bump, or just turning the wheel. I complained about it to over 5 mechanics and no one ever found the source of the noise. It never manifested as anything other than a noise. Please report back if you find out what it is.

Have you checked the rear sway bar bushings and links?

1+ on the control arm bushings.
just fixed this on my wife's Forester.
Really easy job on the BAJA, a real PITA on the Forester.
