I can pretty much explain why they have AWD and not part time 4WD like my 2 brats do.

In short, people are stupid

I know its harsh, but "your average joe" probably wouldnt understand when to use 4WD or even low range and either end up never using it because they are scared TO break it... or use it needlessly and break it accidentally.

LOL! Just look at the number of posts from people who use 4WD on dry pavement and wonder why they lock up. Mismatched tires... they'll do a number too.
