Using cigarette lighter cuts FM reception
When I plug my phone charger into the cigarette lighter my stereo (stock) looses reception. The reception is fine when I plug in the charger, but the moment I plug in my phone it's mostly all static. It's as if the moment I plug the phone in, it disconnects the antenna. Anyone else have this problem or know a solution?

Have you tried a different charger to see if you get the same result? The cheaper chargers have really bad parts in them cheap boards and filters.....

what happens if you plug the charger into the car but not the phone into the charger?
do you use a charger to USB charger or one with a built in cord?

When I plug in only the charger, nothing happens. I lose reception when I plug in the phone. The Chargers I have are the type that you plug the usb cord into.

could be the phone itself is causing issues. I know my older ones, I could hear interference from nearby speakers when they connected, if I was on the same circuit (AC even)
Do you have other phones to plug in and see? Or try a different USB cord?

Update:
A different (one piece--not separate sub cord type) charger solved the problem.
