What is the year/model of the vehicle that it is going in? The TY754VCDAA looks to be a non turbo, push style clutch with a 4.11 final drive.

The one in the Ebay link is an older JDM turbo trans, with a pull style clutch and 4.44 final drive.

2003 subaru baja non turbo I did some research and found I have 4.11 gears the previous owner kept telling me it was 4.44. I think I found one for 800 bucks on ebay free shipping to hawaii.

This one I think it should work but could you double check it

I don't know about that... Ive been doing the research and it seems the tranny was one thing that was specific to the Baja (at least the automatic).

From what I've read the legacy and outback and baja all have the same the only difference in how tall the gears are and final drives. And as long as the final drive is the same as the rear end it should work is that wrong?

That one is 4.11 but it is also a "Pull" style clutch. The non turbos all used Push style clutches. You could in theory convert you entire clutch setup to work with this, but it's a much better idea to get the proper one to start.

You also need to make sure the speedometer gear is correct. They used different sized gears inside the trans for different applications. The outbacks and Bajas for example had larger tires and therefor larger rolling diameter. They used a different speedometer gear to account for this difference. I think your best bet will be an outback transmission (BE/BH generation).

What is wrong with your current trans that makes it non-repairable? You may be rolling the dice with an Ebay trans with an unknown history and miles on it.

EDIT: Since the trans will be out anyway, you can always splits the cases and swap the speedometer gears to keep it reading correctly.

You would want to get the dif to match if you used an outback...at least that's what I've been hearing. just had tranny issues myself.

Is there a place that sells the shafts with all the gears ready to go or a complete rebuild kit for our transmissions? All I've been able to find are for imprezzas

If I get some time tomorrow I might be able to dig around online and see what parts are available. If you cannot get them for the baja you probably can get the same part for an outback as long as the ratios are the same.. You should be able to order the gears themselves separately, but the only time I have seen assembled shafts are when you buy upgraded gearsets such as an RA gearset etc.

That is what they is looking to do. The problem is trying to find a compatible gearbox for sale that has a push style clutch, a 4.11 final drive and the correct speedo gear. Most likely going to be some form of outback trans if a replacement baja one can't be found.
