I need a hitch in my giddyup
My baja did not come with a trailer hitch. What have y'all paid to get one installed? I only need to tow a lil 8 ft trailer. I wanna go the cheapest route while still getting a good product and installation

I didn't have to install the hitch on my Baja, but I did install my own hitch on my old impreza OBS. Took about an hour and about 4 bolts.
You can get a hitch on eBay and amazon. Like $150 fish.
I have also have heard uhal will install a hitch and wiring. Idk what they charge. But its an option.

Beware of U-haul wiring.
I had a friend with a silver Jeep get a hitch done by them...
They ran a hot wire under the truck, zip tied under the frame, no fuse and then they also ran it near the exhaust manifold.

I've heard bolting on a trailer hitch weakens the frame and the vehicle can be considered totaled because of it... But anyway, anybody have experience with the el cheapo Reese brand stuff from walmart? Mom works there and gets 10% discount

How would bolting on a hitch weaken anything? For starters our Baja's do not have frames, they have uni bodies with a sub frame in the vital areas...... If anything it will strengthen that area of the vehicle....... If you get one designed for your specific vehicle it is a bolt on installation with no modifications needed....

2nd that! OEM hitch and wiring is the best way to go - no worries, easy install and you know it's the right one for the vehicle!

So... Is welding necessary? I won't be hauling more than 600lbs on the trailer guaranteed

Wiring is in place for an adapter box too. Very easy. Did one not to long ago myself.
