Need Locks for Factory Bed cover

Post by DoubleD »

Just got a 2005 Baja I believe it has a factory bed cover - Its a thick heavy vinyl wrapped cover.

It didn't come with keys. There's two locks one in front one in back. The one in back is missing the flip top weather cap ad the spring underneath is broken

Anyone know where to get these

I also would like to get get a bed extender

Look up locksmiths in your area, they should be able to make a key from scratch for the bed cover. Shouldn't be too expensive either.

Good idea but I still need the spring mechanism to keep the leaver closed and the trunk gate lock part pluse the weather cap

Spoke to my local Subaru dealer and they can still get the lock key set and rusted spring so I ordered it
Will let you know how it goes

Just heard from the dealer - They can't get the lock set - Bummer

Yes I can call a lock smith but the cap on one of the lock is missing and I think water is getting in

Are all your mechanisms intact under there? I have the factory turbo cover, but everything rusted off on the back.

I was able to find a photo online of what it should look like, and I'm going to see if I can recreate it. If anyone out there knows of a thread or instructions to get the job done....I'd love to know!!
