I have a slight shake in my steering wheel at 65-75 mph. It comes and goes. I completely redid the front brakes, and just put on new tires and had them all balanced. It is only a slight shake but it bugs me. Could it be from a worn strut in front? Or some drive shaft out of balance?
Maybe I should just bite the bullet and buy four new struts and coils for each corner from a new Baja (mine's an '03) and get an inch more of clearance.

Was it a professional balance? I had a tire shop do it and even then they came out unbalanced. They rebalanced them and didn't charge any extra. Problem solved. Is it specific to one part of the car? e.g. front right.

Could be a broken belt in the tire itself?
Re: can't get rid of slight shake in steering wheel
I just had new tires put on and they were balanced. I thought an out of balance wheel would shake all the time at whatever speed it is shaking at. This is smooth one minute and then that slight shake comes back then it's smooth again. Wondering if something worn on the front suspension could cause this.

If rotated does the issue stay up front?
