So I've always wondered (since I've had my Baja anyways), does anyone else with a sunroof have to "double clutch" the switch to get it to close all the way? If I hit the switch once, it will close about 2-3 inches and then stop. I then have to fully release the switch and hit it again to close it the rest of the way. What's up with that? Does anyone else have to do this? I'm assuming it is some subaru idiot-proof safety thing or something like that. I just find it stupid and annoying... Do other subies have the same "feature"?
It's actually a wind-buffeting thing - many sunroofs have a stop at about 3/4 open. On many cars, when the sunroof is open all the way, there is a wind-buffeting thing at higher speeds, over about 45-50 or so. It is sort of like a "whump-whump-whump." The stop is there so that you can close it to just the right spot when speed increases.
