Thanks for any advice, i would love to put in a proper sub box setup, but being disabled (spinal cord injury) and getting up in my later years, crawling around is getting more difficult. Just looking for a little more punch.
Have you looked into the factory under seat sub that subaru offered???
It fits under either driver or passenger seat and is a direct connection to the factory stereo harness... And you can find then on ebay for pretty cheap.
I was actually just looking around for one earlier today... And I did come across one that included the wiring harness for like $100 I think.
Hope this helps,
Greg
Thx Greg, ya mine has the OEM under seat bass unit and tweeters. But to be honest, that thing is a POS! Ive been in a wheelchair for 28 years (motorcycle accident) and have always had nice Vans w/ huge stereos in them and i miss good clean bass. Im not looking for a pounding systemn, just to add some extra punch and the stock one does not deliver.
Doing some research, i have feeling that the SO B-8TB will not fit, might try and look more into it.
in the meantime i ordered some really good quality door speakers (CDT) and i already have a nice Kenwood head unit. We will see how this sound and where i want to go for more bass, tempted to go w. a tonnaeu cover and my old bass box and massive amp from my old van...but not sure i want to go that far. Hell it would prob blow the cover off LOL
Thx for you reply Greg. I love these Baja's and get compliments on it everywhere i go. Taking the wheels off my chair and pulling it through to the passenger seat does get old, but its worth it.
I have been in the same predicament. I have an old under seat sub from my old Outback but mine doesn't have the harness.
I found this Power Acoustik Sub that seems like it may fit perfectly behind the seat. I have a little boy and his Recaro is always in the back seat so I rarely fold the seat forward.
and they have an amp line called Lazer, and they are tiny!
They are 4.75" wide and 1.625" tall, the length varies depending on the amp. For reference, those fuses are regular automotive size fuses, these things are tiny and relatively affordable too.
