This weekend I am entering this rallycross event in my Baja Turbo, my girlfriend and myself are both entered and sharing the car, Videos of the day will follow and there is a a packed field of 60 cars at the event.
My question is has anyone ever done one of these events before ??

Nice! Let us know how it goes. I didn't realize that there was yet another SE MI Baja owner on here! I have never participated in a rally X, only watched a few. It's basically an offroad Auto X. It looks like a lot of fun.

Re: rally X
Yes
A couple things to keep in mind ...
Bring a tarp and a canopy if you have one. You will have an area to "set up" which is where you wil pull everything out of your truck that can move and put it on your tarp. So, I would advise cleaning your truck out before you go down - to the bare essentials. Anything that can move in your cabin (tucked away in a glove box or not) has the potential to end up in your face/eye. You'll remove your spare tire and OEM jack too - everything that can come out should come out - think safety and weight.
DO NOT drive beyond your ability - take your time but hurry up. Don't be a Sunday driver but don't put it in the ditch. If you are worried about how fast or slow you are going, ask the starter to space you out a little - he will hold the car behind you a little longer than usual - to give you space. They should be putting more experienced drivers in line first anyway.
Pay attention to the instructions given and pay attention to each heat's parade lap. Plan your route as best as you can as the course and conditions will change throughout the day - especially if there was rain the night before and you have a 90* sunny day in the forecast (or visa versa).
Don't be shy - tell the race coordinators and volunteers you are new - don't pretend you know what you are doing as you will loose respect much faster that way. Hang with someone you know as done it before, especially when its your turn to work the course.
All that's just off the top of my head - I might think of and post more later.
BTW - I would recommend removing the names you listed in your original post. Many people do not what it to be known that they are racing - especially with a daily driver or a rental (not that I condone the latter).
Again, I can't emphsize enough - do not drive beyond your abilities. Most of all - HAVE FUN!!

Re: rally X
we had a total blast, the only thing that ruined the day was when i lived in England (yes I'm a limey) i had a crotch rocket and a $800 Arai race helmet that i brought with me when i moved here and they said as it didn't have the appropriate safety stamp i couldn't use it for the race day
but other than that it was the best days driving i have had in a long while, they did make a total ban on hand held cameras so i have no in-car footage but i found clips posted yesterday on youtube.
I am driving when #196 is displayed and my girlfriend is #96
