2005 misfire 3&4, converter code etc

Post by rlw1980 »

Hello. My name is Renee. I have a 2005 baja sport with around 157k.
I have been battling with this car since early summer. My father is my mechanic (I can't afford to take it subaru) however we have spoken with them many times.
Have replaced. Plugs, wires, both o2 sensors, coil pack, and converters to no avail. Codes are for cylinder 3&4 misfire and eventually we added a converter code. Still have those codes regardless of replacing the parts.

Car is completely inconsistent about when its going to act up and when it will be okay. It does not like to be left idling and be in stop and go traffic. Does seem to be running rich
When it gets in to one of its modes its like you've got no gas pedal or are running on 1 cylinder. Can't climb a hill if life depended on it. Sometimes you can kick it out of it until you hit a hill other times 30 is about as fast it'll drive and fighting it.
On 4-5 occassions there has seemed to be a correlation between putting fuel in the car and having it start in. But not every time.
Sorry all this is hard to explain in writing. Thank you for any help you can give.

I know this is an old topic but I just saw it, check your Fuel Injectors! I bet if you switch them around your problem will also change cylinders.
