Oil leak, Behind engine.

Post by Rizzo »

I looked at a 2003 today. 183K

Idled rough, Idle Air code and one for the o2 sensor.

Besides that they had actually run it without knowing or smelling  the oil leak.

2 qts low

It's leaking under the engine and pooling on the crossmember.

Does anyone have any good ideas what is happening ?

No other visible signs of any other leaks anywhere else.

I've checked "Notify of replies"

Thanks .

So sad... I've really come to like these and really wanted my first.

If you're selling one I have $5000.00 and it must be a manual.

This is very typical of a leaking head gasket. It's fixable but you would have to invest some money in it to make it your daily driver. Sounds like no one cared for the car. Have you had a compression test done yet?

It's also possible that the back row of oil pan bolts have loosened. They are located above the crossmember.
