Roof Mounted Spare tire carrier.

Roof Mounted Spare tire carrier.
Does anybody have or know of a spare tire rack that will bolt onto our roofs? I am looking to buy a 5th rim and tire to have a full size spare and donut on hand just in case. And I feel like it would look pretty rugged mounted on the roof.

Love the concept, even if it would be a mileage killer.
I'd like to see a swing out spare tire bracket for the rear bumper. In theory anyway, with the shape of the bumper and shortness of the tailgate it probably wouldn't be feasible.

I just used the Subaru roof rack and tied it down. It wasn't meant as a ready spare.. I had an extra tire from a car wreck a few years ago and didnt want it in my apartment.. so I threw it on top!

I love those baskets, I really want/need to get one for mine! How badly did the basket and tire affect your gas mileage??? I've also considered making a hitch mounted spare carrier that can fold so that if you need to open the tail gate you simply fold it down.

I really like this concept:

It is actually reversible, so you can turn it around, have the tire sticking out, so you can use the bed. You don't take a hit on gas mileage and it looks pretty cool. We might be making one for a Brat next spring and if I can track down another Baja (was difficult but we did it for the light bar) I could see doing it for the Baja.
In any respect, if you're putting on the roof, just be sure to ad another fairing to help deflect air around the tire.
