Just bought a rear diff. protector, how to install?
Just bought a rear diff. protector. My dealership WILL NOT explain to me how to put it on, they say it must be installed by them... has anybody done it on their own, if so how did you do it and was it easy?
Re: Just bought a rear diff. protector, how to install?
It's 2 bolts and 2 nuts, if you can get under the rear end and you have some tools, you should be able to get it. I think they are all going to be 17mm, aside from the normal socket set. A breaker bar and a ratcheting wrench will be helpful.
Depending on where you live, the biggest issue will be rust. But it won't be that bad that some penetrating oil and a breaker bar won't get it free.

I didn't think it was too much. And I live in Central P.A so besides the road salt and normal wear and tear, rust isn't an issue. I wash it about once a week or more seeing that i work at a hand car wash
Thanks for the reply, it helped. I will tackle it tomorrow and try to post some pics

Where in PA? If you're not to far from Scranton/ Wilkes Barre you can come here and I'll help throw it on if you have any problems.
