OK. Not to beat a dead horse, but I know I'm not the only one who wants a "bull bar", "nudge bar", "brush guard", whatever all the different terms may be for the same unit. I spoke at length with "Mudrat" the other day about fabbing one for me and of course, anything's buildable for the right price. I even have these capabilities where I'm from here in Wisconsin. Problem is, the Aussies will not (reasonably) ship the pre-fabbed units they offer, over there. Not that I'm lazy or lacking capabilities, but how cool would it be to be able to "bolt" one of these bad boys on? One additional key piece of info I may have left out is I want mine to be of the polished stainless variety to match the rear "roll bars" currently protruding from the rear of my roof to not only keep continuity, but it'll look like it belongs or was an option for this vehicle. I know I'm not alone on that request. I've seen the cute little "light bars" that others offer, made from the 1-1/2" tubing for mounting your off-road lights...not interested. I have no problem fabbing bracketry to my lower radiator support and/or bumper to give this thing some beef, but i'm after the 3" variety offered by everbody else (i.e. Westin, Smittybuilt, Aries...etc.).
Here's my offer for discussion or for research; I'd like to know who has the capability to determine which vehicle's front bumper design most closely matches the Baja front-end so I can end this vast trek I've been on since owning my first Baja in 2004. Again, I'm not looking to push-over oak trees here, this IS still just a Baja. BUT I would like to be able to pull up to another vehicle and "nudge" it or attach a strap and pull without tearing-out my radiator support. I fully understand it's all in the reinforcement of whatever I attach but that's MY problem and when I get to that point, i'll share it all with everyone. Let's get this resolved for all to share!
Thanx to all in advance...

I am good at fabbing stuff up. I do not however have access to anything that will bend 3" stainless. I made these this summer. 1 1/4" thick wall rigid aluminum pipe (same as jeeps use on the winch bars).

I have enough pipe left to do something for the front of the baja but have not had time as of lately to do it.

What do you think??

EDIT: Sorry for the immense picture size.

STI2NR:

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but if you ever use that grappling hook, stand back. I see two rigging problems with your work.
First, the loop of wire rope that goes through the eye of the grappling hook should have a thimble in it. It helps ensure that the radius of the bend in the wire rope is at least 7x the radius of the wire rope. For example, if you're using 1/4" wire rope, it should not bend around anything with a diameter of any less than 1 3/4". Without the thimble, as your set up is now, there will be undue strain on the strands of wire rope on the outside of the bend, and fatigue/compression on the inner strands.

2nd. (I'm less sure about this one) The sleeve that holds the end of the wire rope bound to itself in a small sling is either of a type that I'm unfamiliar with, or isn't showing the marks of a typical Nicopress. If it is a Nicopress sleeve, there should be visible dimples where the sleeve should have been compressed in 2 or three places.

It looks great - and I love the color. I just don't want anyone being the victim of some flailing piece of wire rope which suddenly breaks under tension.
