So in an effort to inclrease my gas millage (a dismal 20.5 mpg) I bought a fuel filter for my N/A '05 Baja. It was the canister type that is supposed to go in the line by the L F strut tower. Open the hood to change it and its not there in the car. I was under the impression that the only Bajas with the fuel filter in the tank were the turbos? This filter is the same one the online parts places say is correct as well.
The othe thing, I would like to put a K&N filter in. The websites call out two different part numbers and the dimensions are two different sizes. Does anyone know what part number I need for non-turbo '05 Baja? I want to order online as its like $20 cheaper than local parts store but don't want to have to take it back.

Re: Fuel, air filters
I used 33-2154 in my 2006 N/A. It should fit in yours. I got it just so I could stop buying paper filters.
I had the same problem with the fuel filter. I went into the dealer, they checked my VIN and gave me the filter saying that was the one. After searching everywhere and pulling the sending unit I determined that there is no external filter on 2006 models and I think Chiltons said something about after 2004.
If you want to increase gas mileage I would also change the transmission and differential oil. I did the whole 30,000 mile service and saw some improvement!
